These are Gudebrod factory master bulk spools of genuine Gudebrod HT Metallic thread from which the company wound down the smaller 1 oz Prospools and the 100 yard spools for retail sale.  They were purchased in an auction directly from Gudebrod's creditors when the company closed down.
Each bulk spool is sold by the approximate net weight of thread on the spool in ounces.  Each 1 oz of thread is equivalent to one  Gudebrod's Prospools of thread (1 oz).  For size D thread 1 oz is 350 yards of thread.   These spools are sold by the ounce at -8 per ounce of thread.  Similar thread on one ounce spools sells for .95 if you can find it.  It is in high demand and is quite rare.
You are paying only for the actual weight of thread on the spool, not the weight of the spool.  The spools alone weigh between 15-16 oz.  Photos in this listing are for example only.  Your spool may look different, however, all spools will at least the amount of thread listed or a bit more.
