What Size Compressor Should You Use?
To get the best performance, make sure your compressor meets these requirements:
Minimum 2.5 CFM @ 90 PSI
Tank capacity of at least 3 gallons
Provides 70-115 PSI
Remember - the faster you use the nailer, the more power you need.

Quick-Start Guide
Step 1: Choose Base Plate
Using the right base plate ensures your fastener is driven at the right height. Each nailer comes pre-assembled with the 3/4" base plate, but you can easily switch it out to the 1/2".
What if your flooring is between 1/2" and 3/4", say 5/8" or 5/16"? Don't worry - just choose the base plate closest to your flooring thickness.
Step 2: Connect to Compressor
Set your compressor to 70 PSI and use the quick-connect fitting on your air hose to connect your flooring nailer. If you have really dense flooring, you can increase the pressure up to 115 PSI.
Put a few drops of oil into the fitting before connecting to a compressor to keep things running smoothly.
Step 3: Load Nails
Pull the side lever back along the magazine until it snaps into place.
Push the magazine cover to the side to reveal the channel where you load the cleats. L-cleats should point to the left, and staples go on the left side of the magazine.
Push the button on the side of the magazine to release the side lever and secure the fasteners.
Step 4: Test and Go!
Use a scrap piece of your actual flooring to test out the nailer before you start on the real thing. Now is the time to fine-tune your PSI and to practice firing. The tongue on your flooring should not split, and all of your boards should fit snugly together.
Pro Tip: Use the white rubber mallet to tap your flooring into place.
15.5 Gauge Flooring Staples, 16 Gauge L-Cleats, and 16 Gauge T-Cleats
When we say the SFL618 is a "3-in-1 Stapler & Nailer", we are talking about how the tool is compatible with three different types of 1-1/2" to 2" fasteners. That means you don't have mess around with changing the magazine if you need a cleat instead of a staple, or you wanted to use T-Cleats but your hardware store only carries 2" lengths in L-cleats. Confused about the differences between fasteners or overwhelmed with the options? Your best bet is to use whatever the flooring manufacturer recommends - they know what your specific flooring needs! Whatever you choose, we have the right fastener for you.
16 Gauge 2" T-Cleats: FNT-2
16 Gauge 2" L-Cleats: FNL-2
15.5 Gauge 2" Staples: FS-2
15.5 Gauge 1.5" Staple: FS-15
